So few mac users seem to be aware of the power of AppleScript. This english-like language is so powerful and potentially time saving, but you don’t have to know a thing about programing to take advantage of the technology. Fortunately because the language is so easy, everyone and their second cousin is writing scripts for everything imaginable and distributing them freely around the web. Just think of something you’d like to see an automated process for… now go look for that on Google. Boom! It’s there.

Let’s get specific. You spend a lot of time sorting out your emails (by month as is often the case) but this takes a while (especially if you get the kind of mail volume I do) and you are prone to making mistakes. But if you had something that took care of that for you… like this, that would make life easier. Or what about posting to a WordPress blog? it sucks to have to go to the site, login, go to the right admin tab, write your post and publish… But what if you had a script that allowed you to post to your WordPress from your desktop… like this. Or say you write to a website like this and you don’t want to open a bloated ftp client every time your upload a supporting graphic. You just want drop a file in a folder and have it go there magically… like this!

If you haven’t given applescripts a go yet, give a shot now. You will save yourself a ton of time and effort.
